GEORGE E. BIEDA

Nautical and Aviation Artist
Biography:
George E. Bieda was trained in art by the
Washington School of Art ,the North Light Artists School, Bremerton
watercolorist Jane Wortman, and New
England Seascape Painter Frederick Maitland Hines. He has also completed
Masterpiece Drawing and Color Courses under NW Artist Cynthia Tyrell at the
Liberty Bay Art School in Poulsbo, Washington. He has been painting
and drawing as a Naval and Aviation Artist for over 35 years.
George developed his knowledge of ships and aircraft
by painting portraits of ship and aircraft throughout his long naval career
where he spent 24 years of his 29 years assigned to sea duty on
submarines, destroyers, cruisers, aircraft carriers, amphibious ships and fleet
auxiliaries. George retired from the Navy in 1994 and now works as a
full time artist for his own company, Windjammer Arts.
His work has been purchased
by the U. S. Navy repeatedly and he has sold over 16,000 ship
and aircraft drawings. His art has been
exhibited at the Northwest Trading Post, The Cracker Factory, Washington
Ave Art Gallery, Collective Visions, Bremerton Naval Museum, Turner Joy
Ship's Store, The Kalakala Foundation, The Naval Undersea Museum, CC Loon
Art, The Perry Avenue Mall, Kitsap Mall, South Kitsap Mall, The Pacific
Marine Gallery, The Sidney Gallery, Liberty Bay Ship Model Gallery and Bay Street Frames.
George was also
the Bremerton Naval Museum's staff artist for 3 years.
